Scripture is clear: taking private business, personal mistakes, or personal sin to public social media platforms is talebearing, gossip, and slander—not shepherdship.
God’s Word commands private confrontation first (Matthew 18:15). Pastors and church leaders are strictly required to be blameless and gentle—not digital brawlers chasing online outrage (1 Timothy 3).
If a leader operates in open disorder online, they must retract, delete, and apologize to the family and the church body. Let’s guard our mouths and protect the flock!
